Merry Christmas!

The night before Christmas was pretty interesting. Dave and I had to help Santa assemble the work bench, the little car, and a storage case. We opened the boxes hoping to find things partially assembled. Nope! It was all in pieces. We even had to cut them from the molds in order to even start putting them together! I took on the tool bench and Dave tackled the car (which had way too many parts for me to figure out, the tires weren't even full tires, they had to be put together too!) he also did the storage shelves. Their reaction in the morning made it all worth it!!

Santa brought Tyler a lawn mower since Daddy was tired of watching Tyler push around the stroller :)
Tyler putting all of his toys in the toy box. To hide from his sister perhaps?!

Tyler got this train from his Grandma and Grandpa Olson. Pretty cute!

Cookies for Santa

Today we decided to make some cookies for Santa. Alana was in charge of adding the mix to the bowl and Tyler added the water. Didn't do them from scratch this year... much easier with the kids to do the quick and easy mix. The kids enjoy licking the beaters. They even squished them down with a cup (dipped in sugar) Though Tyler seemed to like the plan sugar rather then actually doing the whole cookie thing.

Dear Santa

Alana wanted to write a note to Santa this year. To my surprise she didn't want to ask for anything. She just wanted to write "I love you". Very cute. If you notice she drew herself with her tongue sticking out. Silly girl!!

First Field Trip!

Alana had her first school field trip today. She got to ride on the bus for the first time and thought that was great! They went to the hospital to sing Christmas Carols to the staff. It was very cute. They all sang really loud and seemed to have fun doing it. Rhonda and I surprised Lizzie and Alana by going to watch them sing. They thought it was great.

Poor Tyler, he wanted to sing with his sister. He kept walking up there. Everyone thought it was funny and didn't seem to mind that he crashed the party.

Santa and Mrs. Claus

After the kids sang they went back to a little classroom and the Hospital had pizza, cookies, and milk for the kids. And as if pizza wasn't enough for the kids Santa and Mrs. Claus came in for a visit! Santa handed out candy canes and Mrs. Claus handed out hugs. Very cute!

All of the kids were telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas. I hope he has a good memory since they were all yelling at once!

The dogs

Here are a few recent pictures of Blitz and Kelly. Kelly is slowly getting better. She still drives me crazy because she is trying to eat anything and everything that is on the floor, in the trash, or even on the table. I am trying to be patient with this dog....puppies are hard work. A child would have been easier but we won't go there......

First Snow!!

Boy were the kids happy when they woke up this morning. We had our first substantial amount of snow. We made a tiny snow man, that didn't last long since Blitz thought it would be fun to eat it. The kids thought that was hysterical. Poor Tyler though, we don't have any boots for him yet. Surprisingly the snow suits from last year still fit so we were lucky with that! This year Tyler let me put gloves on him so he was getting in the snow just as much as his sister!

This is why you have kids right?! They do all the dirty work while you stand back and take pictures! I see nothing wrong with this :) ha ha. Poor Tyler though. Alana took the big shovel and gave him a little shovel for sand. He didn't seem to care though.

Computer Time

Ever since spending some time with her cousin Kate she has been obsessed with computer games. Though we don't have very many she seems to do really well. She has taken to the laptop pretty well too, though I think she might have an easier time with a mouse for some of the activities. I guess maybe Santa might be getting her some new games, hey Sarah what is the name of that Mickey Mouse game?? She is asking to play it :)

Sleepy time

This is where Blitz sleeps every night. Alana loves it!

So I tucked Alana into bed the other night. I thought she had fallen asleep since she was so quiet. I sat downstairs and watched some TV while I was waiting for Dave to come home from training. Well when we went up to bed this is what we found........

She had gotten out of her bed, went into our room, and started her movie. That girl is just too sneaky!

Playing in the leaves

It was actually a nice day out today so we decided to have some fun playing in the leaves. The dogs even seemed to enjoy it.
Alana insisted on racking by herself! Go for it girl!

Sleepy boy

I had taken Alana to Cluggys to meet her friend Lizzie while Tyler stayed home to help Daddy put shelves up in the basement. I guess Daddy must have really put him to work since he ended up falling asleep at 6:00pm. That can't be a comfortable position to sleep in!

I'm Yours

Alana loves this song. It is her favorite right now! I found a video of it on demand and she dances and sings to it all the time! Good thing I like it too :)

Trick-Or-Treat!!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. No bloody noses for Tyler, he fell last year. We had Alana's friend Lizzie and her parents over for dinner and then to go trick or treating. The kids were very excited about going. Tyler has been wearing his costume for a short while everyday since we had gotten it, and even wanted to put it on this morning too. He loved being James, even kept the hat on (which we were shocked that the hat fit him since he has a rather large head, poor kid) Alana was a witch, and she also had been wearing her costume a lot as well. Dave, Mike and Rhonda took the kids around while I stayed back to pass out candy this year. Dave said Tyler lasted about 2 houses then wanted to be carried. We do live at the bottom of a pretty big hill.
